Sometimes you think you're going to be somewhere for a very long time and sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. No matter how much you love a place, aesthetics are not everything - beauty is not everything. There are so many other things which take priority when it comes down to it.
That is probably true for so many things if you think about it. What is the point of beauty without the right ingredients to make it work. The latter of which is also fundamental. That is to say, most things that are worth having require some amount of work and effort and at times compromise.
However, one has to know where to draw a line and when the compromising becomes something else; a non-negotiable and that, like trust can be lost within an instant. It is unfortunate but that as they say, is how the cookie crumbles. We must adapt, be fluid and be able to recognise it, accept it for what it is & move on when that time comes.
It was a great start and I loved my time at Mount Melville, as did my clients, so it was a tough decision, but it was one that had to be made.
It got me thinking about a lot of different things...I love the aesthetics- buildings, architecture, interiors, exteriors, gardens, nature, faces, fashion.. there is beauty in so many things - all of which can bring great comfort & security and inspiration. But without substance, without values that uphold a certain standard, what do they stand for? One thing that is important to remember is never to compromise your values for anyone or anything, in the end it just won't feel right. You must stand for who you are and what you believe in, what you know in your heart to be right.
In my business confidentiality is key; it is non-negotiable. If I go against that, it's game over and I go against what people are trusting me with; their struggles, their pain, their privacy.
So we are now in Ladybank, - I have converted my grandparents house into a clinic. In the space of 5 weeks. That has taken an incredible amount of work, energy, focus, effort and many sleepless nights. But it has been a journey which I will certainly not forget. I am also very lucky to have someone cheering me on, supporting and encouraging me, even when the chips are down. I know, but it's so true. It's a team effort.
You would think I was building an empire! But completely renovating a place into a clinic is such a mission!
Im not quite finished yet but I think my grandparents would have liked it.
There is lots of natural light that flows into the big windows which overlook a lovely big garden. Although it may be a little further away, I hope my clients & prospective clients will be happy here. Parking is on the driveway right outside the front door.
Welcome to "Woodlands".
